What spiral slicer do you recommend?

I want to purchase some kind of spiral slicer, either a saladacco or spirooli or something....

Can anyone recommend their fave?

I have both. Both were cheap ($10ish) knockoffs on eBay, new. I use the saladacco ten times as often. I totally make up excuses to use it. (Why chop carrots for a salad when you can spiral them...?)

I could never get the spirooli-style slicer to work like I wanted it to, and the eBay store I bought it from provided lame instructions, and the only thing I prefer to use it on is daikon radish.

  • I SOOOOOO disagree! I bought the chen one and it makes SUPER thin noodles....but as soon as you put something on them they flatten out. You have a big bowl of noodles...then nuthin'! My mom sent me a spirooli and I use it EVERYDAY!! the noodles can be longer ( the whole length of the vegetable and they hold up better. That's my vote!

  • I have the Saladacco one and love it. It's so handy, and small. I dislike tabletop mount devices largely because I have a tiny kitchen and do most of my food prep sitting on the floor.
