What to do with kombu?

I bought some kombu, but it gets super slimy when soaked. What do i do with it?

you can make a delicious japanese salad with kombu (sliced julienne), cucumbers (peeled, julienne), little bit of carrot, onion, garlic, toss in some soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, agave, some sesame seeds. Let it marinate for couple hours to soak in the taste. Oh, and don't forget to add sesame oil, it gives it a very nice, rich aroma~
