Sucrose from cane sugar in baby formula
My non vegan sister (who is slow to change and to taking advice) has finally trusted me with this question :
Is sucrose from cane sugar in baby formula (milk) bad for the baby a couple times a week?
I cannot take the opportunity to tell her about vegan alternatives. It will scare her away. I need to address only this question. I'd like details.
She breast feeds except for two bottles of formula a week.
To add to this question, anyone ever make their own formula out of hemp seeds or anything?
My sister breastfeeds but would like to give one bottle a day because she has less milk at night, it leaves the baby hungry and fussy.
Thanks
Most formulas have corn syrup solids as the main ingredient. That's a good argument against formula right there.
Sucrose, in baby formula, has been banned in Europe. Here's an article that may help you explain this to your sister.

And, as far as making your own baby formula, i would urge extreme caution in this...do a TON of research first! Here is a link that I found based on Weston A Price's recommendations.
