Starting a Raw business...

Well, no not really starting a business per se but the very local coffee shop just down the street from my house has asked me to “un-bake” some goodies for them. I’m thrilled about this. I’m thinking of making a couple of things, but most of them are from goneraw.com and other sources. I’m not sure what the laws are on this and aside from laws would like to hear personal opinions.

Hi justbeautiful~ Where are you located? I know here in the US, there are many regulations/requirements about having a commercial kitchen in order to “legally” make commercial food. My best to you on your venture.

  • If you use their kitchen and even better become an employee you will be covered by them. You could come in when they are closed and make your goodies. There are other ways to get around the laws, check and see what your area wants and then look for ways around it.

  • Hmm.. that’s a great tip!

dont know where you are located, but starting my own unbakery has been quite eye opening. I am at a commercial kitchen and still had to obtain many permits and insurance to sell my goodies. check with your local health department. I had to take two food handlers courses and get a tax id number as well…good luck!
