I might have to transfer to Give It To Me Raw, if this doesn’t get better soon.

It’s always been slow, but lately it’s been unusable. What a shame because this is a terrific site.

Thank you for posting this site. Not to add to the complaints but I was beginning to give up logging on to this wonderful place because of the time/frustration involved. I’ll keep trying though because once in a while (like right now) I get through ok.

I appreciate this topic being posted as well.This is a great site but not if you can’t do anything with it. There is rare forum posts and replies and recipes are not really getting posted anymore, or very few every other day because no one wants to deal with the slowness. I think it is related to the updates. Even so, do you really think websites get this bad even after updates? This is just really strange. I hate to act this way but what on earth is going on? I’m beginning to wonder whether this site is infected with a virus, if that’s even possible or something. Does anybody else agree with me?

I don’t think any updates have been added lately. But yes, when you change something, even if you test it, you never know how it going to work when you “go live”. So, perhaps Ray is working on the site. I hope he works some magic soon! It is hard to get at the recipes and forum posts! Yeah, I have given up too because of the slowness.

Also, I don’t know if anyone else realized but when you put up a post and you get that error message – normally your post has posted – so don’t repost or click “Save reply” more than once if it is slow. – otherwise, you end up with lots of dups which takes up database space. (You can go back and delete those dup posts – just click edit and there is a little link in the right corner that says “delete Post” )

Everyone is painfully, frustratingly, hair pullingly, threatening to leave the site, aware that the site is having major issues… Time to be calm and patient. Kandace and Ray are on a well deserved vacation (Gone Raw folks in France?). Maybe it is time to go create and experiment with some new recipes, find some really cool info to share, do something you haven’t done in a long time that really makes your day, ???... According to Kandace’s post, they will be back on May 12th. Give them a few days to recover from the long flight and a little time to figure out where the gremlin has been hiding in the system. The site will be fixed and we will have loads more fun again. :)

BlueDolphin – I don’t anyone is “threatening to leave the site” but as a web programmer myself a slow site is just very frustrating and in today’s world of super high speed internet not really something people should have to deal with anymore. There is no reason to have a site be this slow – unless you still have a dialup or something and in that case dialups are always slow.

I am sure it is the people who host the server’s problem and nothing really to do with the site at all (not a programming problem) – it is hard sometimes to get a reliable server service. You often have to get it “rebooted” (or “refreshed” if you will) to get it running fast again. The people who run the server are probably not aware of the problem yet and won’t be until Kandace and Ray return.

I don’t think anyone is blaming Kandace and Ray – they just don’t have time to wait for the pages to load is all.
