The title of the article is "Top Ten Belly Bloating Foods to Avoid"
"Beat Belly Bloat- Bulky Raw Foods:
"A half-cup serving of cooked carrots delivers the same nutrition as one cup raw, but it takes up less room in your GI tract. Eat only cooked vegetables, smaller portions of unsweetened dried fruit, and canned fruits in natural juice. This will allow you to meet your nutrient needs without expanding your GI tract with extra volume."
Certain foods simply create more gas in your GI tract. They include legumes, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, onions, peppers, and citrus fruits."
So there you have it- get skinny on canned veggies-- thank you aol health.
An interesting slide show which further demonstrates why our society is so ill-informed regarding nutrition. AOL lumps raw carrots, a selection of greens and citrus fruits in the same category as fried and spicy foods, chewing gum and soda. In the next slide show they suggest specific brands of potato chips and marshmallow treats as "Flat Belly" foods. How sad that a name most Americans trust would misuse its influence this way. :- (
