i just use guacamole as a salad dressing. i like lemon juice as well. i'm thinking of trying banana celery dressing tomorrow. celery is so salty and i figure the banana will make it creamy.
I usually squeeze some lime or orange juice on my salad. Occasionally I take the time to mash up an avocado with some lime juice and maybe a dash of seasoning of some sort. I used to think "salad" meant a heavy creamy dressing. Now I can't even stomach the idea of a creamed dressing.
I'm an ex ranch-fanatic. It's still hard for me to imagine dry lettuce heh.
Avocado sounds like a good idea. I'm just worried about eating too much of it since I plan on doing multiple salads per day
Bragg's makes two different Raw salad dressings that don't require refrigeration. The only problem in your case is that they both have vinegar:( One is ginger sesame and the other is just a vinaigrette. I use 1/2 an avocado with a little lemon juice and it works great. Just cut the avocado into cubes and put it on your salad and mash it in a little bit then put the lemon juice on, yum:)~

neskalee~ The BF likes ranch- I made this up a while back, and he said it is very similar in taste:
zucchini
apple cider vinegar
olive oil
-> Blend until creamy. Add:
hemp seeds
shallot
dill weed
garlic
-> Blend again, until creamy.
Sorry, I don't have measurements, I don't measure anything! Taste as you go- add what you like & have. I'm thinking you could use lemon instead of ACV, or maybe leave it out entirely.
emtpdmom~ Ditto, on everything you said. I think you wrote that post for me!! ;~)
I've recently started just squeezing organge/mango juice onto my salads and it's lovely. Dead quick and easy too.
There was a blueberry dressing recipe posted on this site which is pretty recently that is fantastic!
UPDATE: Here's the results of a search for recipes that include the words "salad" and "dressing" but not "vinegar". You could refine it a bit by leaving the "Keywords" as they are and adding additional limits (ie: " . . . without" tahini OR "Containing . . ." sunflower).

Sorry . . . my original post was for without oil, not without vinegar. You would think a former English teacher could read a bit more accurately. Well . . . maybe it's not the accurate reading, but the remembering what one has read . . . hmmm . . . Oh well, I think I got it right this time. ?
I really like one pint of cherry tomatoes (really good and sweet), 1 pint of pineapple, and about half of a cucumber. Also, mango and tomato is always good. And pistachio, cucumber, and tomato is delicious as well.
Hope that helps,
Swayze :)
For my salads I usually just squeez about half a lemon and mix well.
But for creaminess I usually chop up half an avocado and mix well until it becomes creamy. its oh so good! Also as a vinegar free salad dressing i place 2 cups of cherry tomatoes in my magic bullet and add a little water and EVOO with whatever else I feel like and blend. Its a bit like a soup and almost like my raw marinara but its really yummy on a salad! :)
mm mmm mmmm so today for lunch Im having romaine lettuce with red and white onion, diced tomato, cilantro, and smashed avocado with lemon juice.
Ill let you know how it goes haha
Or maybe ill get motivated this weekend and drum up a bit of this:

looks delish!
neskalee the salad you had sounds similar to the one i made a couple night ago only i added sweet raw corn, radishes, green beans and a whole bunch of other stuff. hope you enjyoed it! :)
The dressing I use most often because it is so easy
Berry Simple Dressing
1 cup of mixed berries
juice from one lemon
8 soaked dates
combine in Blender adding the soaking (dates) water as needed for the consistancy you like
blue eyes, i have used a combo of berries and dates to make jam but never dressing. that's a spanking good idea. blackberries and dates is my favorite combo, but i have some blueberries so i will try that.
That sounds really tasty, Blue_Eyes! I love lemon and berries, but would never think to add dates.
