When a recipe calls for 1 cup flax seed (golden or brown) ground. Does that mean you measure out 1 cup whole and grind it or grind them until you get one cup?
Also, I discovered that seeds swell when soaked so Iâ€™m sure if they mean soak 1 cup of flax seed and.. use it all, or soak 1/2 cup that will yeild 1 cup. I found myself with extra soaked flax seeds and Iâ€™m not sure if Iâ€™m suppose to use them all. Thanks
For flax, I grind them until I reach 1 cup. So I don’t measure at all at first – I grind, then measure out a cup.
For seeds, I measure, then soak. So if it calls for one cup almonds, soaked, I measure out one cup and soak them, then use them even if it ends up being a larger quantity.
I don’t know if this is correct though!
