Raw Eggs?- Do or Do Not that is the question

zinfandelzinfandel Raw Newbie

Anybody have experience with raw eggs?

I have been following the 811 and to be honest feel kind of spacey. Should I take the plunge?

I would prefer to stay vegan, but my health and vitality actually comes first.

Do raw eggs enhance or inhibit health? Are they helpful or harmful? Are they easily digestible or will I end up sick for 2 days like after eating an avocado?

Let me know your experiences :)

I’ve tried them according to the Wai diet. I tried an egg in a smoothie and I became very hot and tired. I felt very strange. They affected me a bit the next day but not much. I don’t think they are good for the health and they don’t help digestion – don’t be fooled by those who say raw eggs are actually digestible. Eating the raw egg will make you feel even more spacey.

  • My boyfriend follows a raw paleo diet; he will rinse the yolk under running water and then down it. Makes him feel good, but he is WAY far from a vegan raw diet. Before I went raw, I would sometimes dip steamed kale in raw egg yolk (rinsed) with vanilla bean mixed in. If you are vegan, and avocado makes you sick, you probably will feel gross after a raw egg just because of th idea that it’s a raw egg. Maybe talk to the 811 folks; perhaps you aren’t eating enough for that fruit-sugar high and your glucose is dropping and making you feel spacey.

The longer I detox the more sensitive it seems my digestion gets… which is perhaps a good thing. I’ll consider that it’s possibly that I’m not eating enough… or perhaps it is some kind of detox. I think I will make a separate thread on the topic.

Maybe I’ll try raw eggs someday, but I’m not going to rush out and get some.

    Thanks for all the input!
