Raw Carbs

If in the SAD world I am very sensitive to carbs (pasta, breads, etc) and gain weight easily on them, what do I need to avoid eating RAW? I don’t want to go 100% raw and then start gaining weight because I am eating the wrong things. This is will certainly through me over the edge and back to cooked foods. Any boo boo’s that you have all made will be valuable to my success and others.

I would eat fewer starchy veggies like jicama and carrots. I would also limit nuts and sweet (high glycemic) fruits. Eating more dehydrated than natural “wet” foods might not help you either. Try to eat more mono-meals instead of combining too many ingredients. I think occasionally eating the transitional recipes on this site might help you to stay raw and then you can ease into a more optimal diet. Going cold turkey isn’t always the wisest choice. You may feel worse for awhile as your body cleans out the toxic substances you’ve eaten in the past. My suggestion is to increase the raw foods over time, adding more daily until you don’t have the desire for cooked food anymore. You don’t have to feel like you’re cheating that way.

I’m curious what are some high glycemic fruits and vegetables?

Dried fruits, dates, watermelon, bananas (even though they are med. on the glycemic index, they’re high for fruits). It would be better to eat some greens with these fruit. Here’s a chart:
