I am going to be spending a couple of days in downtown Portland this week. I thought that there is a raw food restaurant somewhere down there.

Can anyone help me out?

The Blossoming Lotus is pretty good and you’ll definitely always find raw food there. I’ve also seen talk of a place called Proper Eats, but haven’t been there yet.

A new vegan restaurant just opened a month ago called Nutshell. I visited last night and they had a living lasagna that was amazing. It was the first time I have ever had raw food at a restaurant that felt like it was created by a chef who is passionate about flavor. Just amazing.

There is also a place in town called Old Wives’ Tale that has a salad bar. It doesn’t have a ton of raw ingredients, but it serves well in a pinch as a place to go with, say, non-raw family where you can at least be sure to be able to eat.
