Pine Nuts $$$$

Can anybody tell me what you can substitute Pine nuts for? They are $15.00 per pound here in Phoenix.

Pine nuts are creamy texture nut, so I would have to to say either cashews or macadamias would be perfect substitutes. Then again those arent too cheap either. If that is so then I would just settle for walnuts.

What is it for? It think it depends on how your using it. Pine nuts are kind of bitter tasting by itself and there isn’t any other nut that taste like it.
