I bought some raw peanuts and made peanut butter once. I still have most of it in my fridge. It gave me mucous whenever I ate any and it didn’t even taste that good.
Peanuts are really hard to digest too. because they are part of the legume family. Legumes are made of protein and starch and are not easily digested.
I recently learned that Aflatoxin, the mold that commonly grows on peanuts is one of the most potent carcinogens ever discovered. So my advice would be to steer clear of peanuts.

awe crap i have a whole bag of them :(
I just tried raw peanuts for the first time this past weekend. I thought they were really good, especially chopped up on a raw pad thai! My understanding is that aflatoxin occurs when peanuts are stored in large silos for a long period of time, which promotes the growth of the aflotoxin. Raw peanuts, on the other hand, are shipped fresh and therefore don’t have a problem with aflotoxin. A good source of raw peanuts would be Nature’s First Law’s jungle peanuts (organic and aflotoxin free).
