New to the Raw Foods Diet

Hi,

I'm new to the raw foods diet. I tried weightwatchers for a year and reached my goal weight last summer. I lost a total of 22 pounds. However, I gained about 10 pounds back. I have always been a pretty healthy eater, eating mostly fruits and veggies. I am a vegetarian and lactose intolerant. So, I am trying this diet to drop about 15 pounds in two months. I hope this is possible. I do some type of exercise everyday. While on this diet, my goal is to work out for 60 minutes a day and do light weight training three days a week. I hope I can do this!!!

    Hi Jessica,

Generally, you can expect to lose 2 pounds of fat a week at most. Anymore than that is dangerous. With that said, it is not unheard of to lose several pounds of water in a very short time when starting a raw diet.

Make sure to get enough calories from sweet fruit and I'm sure you will do great.

    Good luck! :)

  • Hi,

Thank you for the support. Today, I ate tons of fruit throughout the day, so I'm confident that I ate enough calories. I have two questions for you. First, is it possible to gain weight on this diet? Second, does smoked salmon count as a raw food?

    Thank you!
