So, for the past year, I've been trying this raw food thing, but only been getting sicker and sicker. I ended up in this year long binge-starve-loathe cycle, and have suffered from an eating disorder for over seven years. I've tried to do this on my own, but I can't. I really do need a community of support, because this past year, I've been barely surviving. I feel bloated, fat, ugly, tired...and I'm only 18! I want to THRIVE, I want to have fun and feel beautiful, not depressed and lonely. So, please, help. Any books, ebooks, websites, guru's, advice...anything is welcome (especially metaphysical/new age stuffs :D)
Firstly dont stress, stress puts a major amount of strain on your adrenal glands which will only make you feel wore.
If you cant follow raw have you tried eating high raw and the rest cooked vegan diet? Make sure your getting sufficient calories also. Iodine is a hard nutrient to get on a raw or vegan diet heres a link - http://vegankingdom.co.uk/?p=39
I wouldnt read too much into the self appointed "gurus" most of them are very poor and inaccurate advice from what ive seen over the years.
The problem with me is that I can't stay on a high raw diet for very long without binging on cooked foods, even when I allow myself to eat them.
And, you're right about stress - it tends to permeate my life, especially this time of year.
