mineral water?

k, just read the thread on bottled water….thoughts on sparkling water, like pellegrino as far as health goes? At home we drink filtered tap water, i take this with me in a stainless container. But as a one time soda addict i weaned myself off the stuff by drinking carbonated water. I still like the fizz, is this a bad idea? some fermented drinks i have tried had a fizz to them, but seemed hard on my stomach…would love your thoughts.

  • Water with naturally occurring effervescence is great. Pellegrino has CO2 added, which isn’t so great… a couple of the good ones are San Faustino, Gerolsteiner.

I was just at the Health Freedom Expo the other day and they had so many water vendors there. Basically ones that were selling the expensive water ionizing machines (i think that was what they were). Anyway, one place that an exhibit that had all the different bottled waters that are available today. The majority of them test very high on the acidity scale.

The Pellegrino was one of the worst for acicity. Also popular brands like Danasi and AquaFina. Evian was high too. I wish I could remember them all. Basically, aside from the expensive water filteration sytem they were selling, Fiji bottled water was one that was on the alkaline side (I think it got a 7 scale on the rating) and one other one which I can’t remember.

I’ll look it up and see if I can find a website if anyone is interested.

I wish I could afford the expensive water filteration system but I can’t. I use a Brita filter pitcher for my drinking water which I know isn’t the best but better than drinking tap water. :)
