WOW, the new Advanced Search feature is so powerful! If a simple "search" yields too many results, try these steps:

1. From any screen on the site, click on the word search.
2. Click on ADVANCED SEARCH.
3. From here there are multiple options. Put in your search terms. Choose the “type” from the check boxes on the right (recipe, for example).
4. Click ADVANCED SEARCH at the bottom.

To locate a user profile:
1. From any screen on the site, click on the word search.
2. Click on USERS (above “Enter your keywords”)
3. Enter the user name, or the part you remember.
4. Click SEARCH.

I’ve been able to locate recipes, forum topics, and people much more efficiently with the new search. It’s almost like a GOOGLE search. From the “Only in the category(s)” option you can also isolate a specific forum category.

The new homepage and updated features were well worth the wait. Kandace and Ray, you're awesome.

To search in multiple categories, simply hold the ctrl key down and click on each category you want. The shift key selects multiple categories with one click.

all the pictures that went with a recipe can be found if you use the advanced search for the recipe and just check 'images'...at least until the site is finished and the pics should all be with the recipe again:)

Thanks for this information. I woould like to say this was a "DUH" moment. But it was not. I think it is confusing because advanced search does not appear as an option UNTIL you click search with nothing in the box. The only way I would have ever discovered this feature is by accident. Are different browsers seeing different views perhaps? It might be useful to have that instruction appear on the screen in future versions. Once you get to advanced search, it's highly intuitive as emtpdmom suggests.

This little bit of info makes things much easier but I wouldn't have know it from the site alone(unless I happened across it by accident) without the inside hints from those that figured it out.

Thanks :)
