I use baking soda and/or vinegar for most all cleaning... Keep it simple and easy is the most eco friendly, IMHO smile
aromatherapy-- Most ants hate the smell of lemon, fleas hate the smell of orange and spiders don't like lavender.
Hm... that might explain why Lemon Fantastic works so well on ants. Regular Fantastic and other same-type cleaners don't work.

How do you effectively use the aromatherapy to get rid of the critters?
Use white spirit vinegar. Not applecider vinegar. I have a load saved on my computer. Later on today, I will collect them up for you and post them.
I'm pretty much content with lemon, vinegar and baking soda.

I use a scent ball by Aura Cacia (electric) for spiders. Use lavender oil. Plug it in for a few days and they are gone. I have to check the ball a few times a day, but it is better than spiders. I have also read you can put the lavender oil in a carrier oil base and put in a spray bottle. I would think that would need to be sprayed in an area like the garage. Oh! Depending on the size of the place needed to be rid of spiders, it may take more than one ball.
Ants, scent ball and/or lemon oil in a carrier oil. Plug in the ball and put the lemon oil at the entrance or along their trails. Before I was into health. I used Lemon Pledge furniture polish.
For fleas I put 8-10 drops of orange oil into my rug shampoo cleaner, and 3 drops on my dogs nylon dog collar. I take the collar off at night to do this, then put it back on next morning. I have done this for our past dog and now the one we have. Not a flea!..... By the way, put the oil in the area where the collar will be on the top of the dogs neck.
You can also put essentials oils with a carrier oil on a cotton ball and put them where needed.

Any ideas for calcaire? I mean, where I live there is tons of calcaire that sets in the toilet, and you need to soak them in hydrochloric acid. I don't like that idea so any others are welcome.
I've heard others say the best way to remove limestone (calcaire) without chemicals is to use a pumice stone like you use on your feet. It's supposed to be soft enough to not scratch the surface.
Mmmm... now I just have to get over the idea of putting my hand in the toilet water (even with a glove). We are so spoiled with all those harsh chemicals doing all the work for us. That's what makes it hard for lots of people to want to 'take a step backward' as they see it, and do things more naturally.
Turn off the water supply to the toilet. Flush. Walla . . . an empty toilet bowl. Now you can scrub without putting your hand in the water. (^_^)
peppermint and spearmint essential oils repel mice and rats. we had a huge rat in the house so we soaked a few cotton balls in the minty oil and put them in the pantry where we found the rat and it hasn't been back since.
check out soap nuts for laundry detergent.
i use apple cider vinegar and/or dr. bronners soap to clean dishes and everything else. it's pretty much all you need.
I have a friend who uses Junior Mints (peppermint) to ATTRACT rats to the traps. Works great for her she lives on a farm. So now that is confusing.
