I am Wendy, 41 yrs old, I have one son, 3, and a loving husband in the Navy and he will soon retire from the Navy this December, 29 yrs. Woohoo Go DH!. Anyway, I have recently 'Gone Raw'. I purchased a juicer and a new blender. My main reason for going raw is since my husband is still living in Tennessee and I am in Florida, I couldn't cook for just myself. My son is a very picky eater as well. So I decided to just eat more healthy, veggies and fruits and some nuts. I tell ya, I feel so much better, my face is clearer, I have more energy to keep up with my son. I love to drink a smoothie in the moring (avocado and almond milk) for breakfast, for lunch I juice my salad which is really good! For dinner I juice or I will make a salad and use salsa for my dressing (yum). I have also started Couch to 5K in hopes to be able to get to do a 5K with my husband when he gets moved down here. He is a marathon runner and I doubt I'll be able to do that, BUT would love to run a 5K with him, just to prove to myself that I can lol.

I need to learn to break out and make some of these recipes I am reading about on here.

I look forward to this forum. I have read, and read on the internet about raw foods, juicing, and green smoothies and have yet to decide if I like juicing better then green smoothies! lol All of it have there benefits.

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

I am also a Navy wife--though I've got a long time until retirement. I am guessing your husband is in Millington? I wouldn't mind going there one day--though I've got my sights on Groton, CT right now. My husband is actually driving back from Virginia (I'm at Great Lakes) right now, where he has been for IA training. I starting going raw when he left two months ago so it will be interesting to see how we all adjust. My kids have already made the change from regular milk to almond mylk without a hitch--now we'll see how daddy reacts. I look forward to going through these changes with you :)
