I just saw a story on the news that might be of interest to you…
As you are probably well aware, the massive foreclosure disaster is far reaching. One of the unforeseen consequences of the many foreclosures is the many people are “forced” to give up their loving animal companions (all sorts from horses to pigs to dogs and cats…). Shelters are overflowing with these relinquished animals (those are the lucky animals, many are turned loose to fend for themselves). A little girl took it upon herself to make a difference in providing for some of these relinquished pets. She saw the site www.freerice.com that provides free rice to feed the hungry and has now created similar sites for providing kibble for dogs and cats. If you would like to be part of her solution, goto her sites free kibble for dogs and free kibble for cats. Each time someone (like you) goes to her sites and answers a trivia question, she gets credit from her advertisers to donate 20 pieces of kibble. It is free to the person going to the site. Pretty cool for a “kid”!
Bark Bark Bark… Meow Meow Meow… (thank you from the four-leggeds that are being impacted)
That’s brilliant. My daughter would love to check that out being a huge animal lover. Pets are having a tough time, I was aware of the problems with rescuing pets during the flooding in the midwest, but I hadn’t heard of this. Thanks.
