Hello from California

HI,

My name is Elle and I'm a 22 year old living in Monterey.

I am currently battling some health issues but have become highly intrested in going all raw!

Being a vegatarian for about 10 years now and also conquering an eating disorder I feel like I'm in the process of reclaiming my life.

I have all the tools, a blender, a juicer, a whole foods.

I just completed "12 Steps to Raw Food" by Victoria Boutenko. I feel totally inspired but am looking for information and support.

I generally eat probably about 75% raw just naturally, without trying. I love fruit, veggies. Today and yesterday was all raw except for a s'more tonight (opps)

I would truly love to free myself from cooked food. I do feel like I have an addiction and I want to treat myself better than that.

I am an avid runner, I am currently training for a half-marathon.

My favorite foods are, fennel, avocados, beet juices, fresh pinapple, mangos, sweet potatos

My biggest challenges to eating 100% raw is confusion as to what is raw (like the almond milk at whole foods in not raw but the one at my local farmers market is?) my cravings, and socially.

I feel sometimes like my boyfriend thinks I'm nuts.

I'd really like to make some friends, even virtually , who understand my desire to live like this.

I look forward to hear and sharing more!

love and Peace,

Elle

  • Hi Elle,

My name is Jessica and I just had to reply to your post. I live in the Monterey area, and while at Whole Foods today I came across the 12 Steps to Raw Food book. I've been dabbling with raw foods for several years but I never manage to fully commit for a number of reasons. I bought the book and I'm already almost finished reading it. I think it has really inspired me to finally go raw, but I am going to need support from other raw foodists because my boyfriend, roommate and friends are meat eaters. I see that your post is from June, have you had much luck making the transition?
