I just wanted to say hello to all. I am new to this and not 100% raw yet…I am actually, not 100 vegan or even vegetarian yet (I am in transition… I am pescatarian). I actually stumbled across this lifestyle just recently...
I am a nontraditional student, returning to school after quite a while in the work world. I have always been reasonably healthy (eating good foods and exercising regularly), but when I returned to school full-time and still had to work nearly full-time, my exercise diminished along with my good eating habits. After a few years I began to feel every bit of my age (and then some at times).
I decided to take a course on nutrition this summer for two reasons: 1) because I wanted to take a course that meets the arts & science requirements of my program [there were many, I chose this one] and more importantly, 2) because I needed to renew my health and vitality.
The course hasn’t even started yet, but I have devoured 5 books and have done a ton of research on-line. Initially, I discovered the pH balance issue (which makes a ton of sense), then I stumbled upon raw foods and have been researching ever since.
I also purchased a vitamix and this has seriously changed my life (I do eat mostly fruits & vegetables, but I still eat beans, tofu and soups).
I must confess, I have only been pescatarian for a year now (I feel quite guilty admitting that). I am in transition. This feels like the right path for me.
I am grateful for this site; I have learned so much here already.
