green smoothies

Hi! I’m trying to transition to a raw lifestyle, and I love green smoothies for getting more greens in my diet. My fiance isn’t raw or even vegan (but I only cook vegan, so he actually eats about 75% vegan…the other 25% is when he’s out).. Anyway, I made him taste my smoothie and he liked it, but refuses to drink them even if I make it for him (and it’s easy enough he could do it himself, the lazy bum, haha) because they’re green. He says it looks disgusting, which it doesn’t…it’s actually a really nice green. Not like a brown-green, but very vibrant (these ones have been spinach and banana and sometimes with an orange in there too). Are there any ways to make them not green? If I put frozen blueberries, would that make it blue or purple, or would it be green still? Any help or ideas would be really appreciated!

If you put blackberries or blueberries in it, it will turn dark purple. They (to me) look less appetizing that way but that’s only because I know that the green ones are soooo yummy! Maybe he’ll come around eventually, my mom is the same way! I make them for my dad all the time, but it took him a few weeks of staring at me while I drank them before he asked for one. ;)

    Good luck!

I know it’s a little late, but in case you check back, tell him to get over it;) My boyfriend can down some green smoothie. Even my 7 year old EXTREMELY picky little cousin had 4 green smoothies in two days!!!!(one wasn’t even very sweet at all, and looked a nastyish green!) So, I hope he can be open minded, and think of it as nutritious rather than gross. My boyfriend thinks of the whole vegan/raw thing as being in touch with superman:)Brags to his coworkers about his quick healing abilities. Its great:)!
