Green smoothies

Are there any drawbacks? I've heard combining fruits and vegetables is bad, so does that apply to the smoothies? Help!

Blended foods make it easier for the stomach to digest.

Everyone digestive system varies slightly, but you should not have any problems digesting and assimilating a smoothie.

Unless you have a food sensistivity or intolerance, a smoothie should not cause discomfort or be difficult to digest.

  • Greens are not "vegetables" and can be successfully combined with fruits. Actually, I believe that they can be combined with anything! :)

He explains "vegetables" are things with starch in them like roots and greens are in the leafs and blossom family and fruits are all things off trees and plants like tomatoes and peppers.

I don't understand why you can't blend "true" vegetables like carrot into green smoothies because often I put carrot in mine to sneak it in there since I don't like them raw.

Leafy greens are the one food that can be combined with anything, fruits included. All other vegetables are a no no when it comes to green smoothies, they are not good on the food combining charts.

  • The only troubles I've found on the 80-10-10 diet is when I deviate from the "plan" and add too much fat to my diet....the fruits/veggies mixed has been easy
