Full, but not full

I’m on my 2nd day of 100% raw and I’ve noticed that my stomach will feel full, but will also be giving me what feel like hunger pangs. It feels both hungry and full at the same time. I think it may just be used to equating that heavy, stuffed feeling with full, and I feel lighter on raw.

Anyone else have that happen?

When you eat cooked food your digestive system becomes paralysed, it freezes. This a body’s response to a poison, to protect it. We get used to this and call it “being full”. So when we go raw our digestive systems start moving again, and we never get that heavy, still stomach full feeling like you get with cooked food.

Are those really hunger pangs or is it just your stomach moving?

When I fast I feel what I used to call hunger pangs, and I just relax, feel into it and I realise that they’re not anything to do with hunger it is something else going on. I have fasted for a week and not been hungry. Fasting is an incredible way to learn about eating ;)

I agree Zoe. It is amazing what you learn about your body while fasting. I am 34 days into a juice fast and have experienced no hunger at all. I feel refreshed, alert and alive. I am so amazed and impressed with how much better I feel while eating raw or fasting. The human body is astounding!
