anybody know why this happens??? ... my right top eyelid has been twitching off and on for the last 3 days.
Are you getting enough sleep? This often happens to me when I haven’t been getting as much sleep as I should be.
I totally get enough sleep….i work from home so i lucky in the fact that whenever I’m tired I can just go take a nap.
Alright, stylestacey… well I was able to find a few more causes here.
“The most common things that make the muscle in your eyelid twitch are fatigue, stress, and caffeine. Once spasms begin, they may continue off and on for a few days. Then, they disappear. Most people experience this type of eyelid twitch on occasion and find it very annoying. In most cases, you won’t even notice when the twitch has stopped.
More severe contractions, where the eyelid completely closes, are possible. These can be caused by irritation of the surface of the eye (cornea) or the membranes lining the eyelids (conjunctiva).
Sometimes, the reason your eyelid is twitching cannot be identified. This form of eyelid twitching lasts much longer, is often very uncomfortable, and can also cause your eyelids to close completely.”
Chlorine deficiency can show up as muscle twitches – avocados are the only food source I remember offhand.
I get eye twitches when I am low on Potassium… Eating a few ‘nanas or other high (and available) Potassium dense foods usually does the trick for me.
Doesn’t it feel like your eyelid jumps out about two feet from your head and you think everyone can see it or someone is going to get knocked out by it? teehee
I have noticed that my eye twitch is also related to cooler weather. My twitch goes away in the late spring, and doesn’t show up again until the weather begins its autumn cooldown (60-70). And yes,
it showed up again just recently, My summer was as full of caffeine and just as little sleep as it is now, butthat weather is the trigger.
Getting more sleep/less caffeine DOES help lessen the frequency, but my eye seems to twitch on and off all winter long.
I get facial twitches when I am super stressed out/sad/nervous. Besides my eye lid twitching, the two tiny muscles on both sides of the center of my upper lip squeeze together by themselves rapidly. I have the creeped-out chills just thinking about it… I hate when my body does things that I am not controlling!
when I’m stressed and fatigued, happens to me.
i have been drinking more caffeine lately….Just one moare reason for me to quit coffee….gosh I hate having addictions!
