Detox needed!

It’s my mother’s birthday today and we went out for a meal (no raw food in sight unfortunately) so I am needing a good detox/cleanse. Phew. Starting from now! I can feel the weight creeping on from the meal already! hides

  • Have you ever done a Master Cleanse? Or at least do a Salt Water Flush tomorrow to cleanse your colon.

  • Yea, I would say for a quick fix, eat light for the rest of the day & drink some smooth move tea tonight & do a salt water flush in the morning.

    You might consider doing a “mini” water fast for the rest of the day… just start drinking lots of water so the body can flush out what you don’t want in there. For added cleansing, squeeze a quarter of a fresh lemon in each glassful of water (doesn’t really matter how much water your glass holds). Water is your friend. :)

    I had some food related issues for a long time, and honestly feel I have a better relationship now. I trust myself, and make mistakes, keep on and so on. I just want to say that after I ate and felt similar to that- I think my problem was probably worse, but that’s lucky your’s seems less sever, but I just want to say that trying to fast the next day kind of kept me in this wierd up down phase, I want to suggest my opinion, but follow your own intuition, and mine is to eat lightly, have something tasty and yummy, avocado with lemon and salad with sprouts for enzymes and some hemp seeds, or whatever.
    No need to punish yourself, when I was younger, I said my problems were worse and the body is really pretty amazing it can digest a lot do drink lemon water, do some situps or go for a walk, or both, stretch on the floor, breathe, a little of the wrong food isn’t a big deal, you’re on the right path now it takes time.

  • Thanks people for the advice, I will definitely be drinking plenty of water. I have never done a Master Cleanse, but I will consider it! Sounds like a good idea. I have been drinking lots of water today since returning. I will look out for some lemons tomorrow!

  • you could easily do a salt water flush in the morning to flush out your system. mix 2 teaspoons of sea salt with 32 oz (1 QT) of pure water. drink when you wake up in the morning. this must be on an empty stomach. then stay near a bathroom. this will flush your colon. good luck

  • Thanks for the help frustrated, sounds good, I do however have work tomorrow from 2:15pm – 10pm so I might have to save the cleanse for the day after tomorrow in fear of needing the bathroom? Or is it unlikely to take that long? I am in need of some guidance :)

  • I think you will be okay. The flush happens pretty quickly….within 2 hours you should be fine.

    frustrated.. during the MC can’t you do the sea salt flush after your smooth move tea? Is that still considered any empty stomach?

  • kminty I have done the MC a few times. I would not recommend that you do the SW Flush after the tea at night.Take the tea at night and do the SW Flush in the morning. The Flush cleans out the digestive tract. You would be wasting your money if you drank the tea then washed it all away with the flush before it can do its job. It is ok to take the tea at night and do the flush in the morning. Some say “eather-or” but I have never had a problem doing both. Happy flushing.

  • I am on day 10 of the Master Cleanse right now. It was my first time doing it, and it was so much easier than I thought it would be. I really haven’t been very hungry. I have detoxed quite a bit, and have felt great the whole time. Saturday I get to drink some fresh orange juice. I am pretty excited about that. I think the hardest thing for me about it is that I really enjoy preparing food for our family – but it has been a good experience for our 16 year old as well. While we are fasting- she has had to prepare her own meals – so she has had a lot of nutrition, cooking and meal planning lessons during our fast!

  • All I want to say is, when you put raw salad, sprouts, juices, smoothies into your body they replace the garbage and flush out the toxins and build the nutrient counts in your cells to rebuild your body from any damage the toxins may cause. The raw salad and sprouts also sweep your intestinal garbage out, like a broom.
