Dessert Success

I have been off "normal" processed foods for years - I was on a gluten free, grain free, refined sugar free, processed food free- whole foods (cooked) diet prior to becoming raw vegan, so sometimes my tastes don't match a "Normal" person's tastes. I'll think I've hit the raw culinary jackpot only to find my husband cringe at the first bite. Needless to say, this has led me to be bit stingy with my food - if they don't like it, why ruin my blissful ignorance? :)

Last night my Mom stopped by and I had her taste the raspberry white chocolate "cheese"cake recipe I had slightly altered from the Sweet Gratitude recipe book, and she RAVED about it. Then she stole 3 pieces to distribute to friends and family. And now I'm unbaking "cheese"cakes for a birthday next week and another for a family friend just because. These are SAD people who are refined sugar addicts. People who loved the raw vegan dessert and want a relatively healthy alternative to the stuff they'd eat anyway. YAY! These interactions open a door because people see they can have great food that is good for you without sacrificing taste.

I just thought I would share. I love hearing stories like these :) Go us!

Wow! I think I'll have to check out that recipe. lol

I'm never quite sure if it's a good thing to have others like the stuff I'm making. I mean, it's awesome for them to be turned onto raw that way. They just have to learn to make it themselves and not take mine! I say that as someone who can't keep enough kale chips in the house thanks to my son who devours them. ;) I have actually caught myself hoarding stuff until the kids are asleep!
