it explains some things about the biological diet of humans (indirectly, in some ways) and the diets of other animals.

I found those articles interesting but the thing I wonder with the second link is that chart of the diet of particular animals. There are birds who eat meat but I don't know if they eat all meat or maybe some grains/seeds. And there are some primates I'm unsure of which do occasionally eat meat (cannibalism to be exact) but they probably do rarely only when trying to establish superiority/territory and such. I wonder how different food group eater's bodies react to foreign food? I know with cows they produce bad bacteria like salmonella and e. coli.

  • Great stuff, especially the second link. I think the best example of what can happen when a creature eats what they're not biologically suited to is the Western world's huge incidences of heart disease and obesity! Or, more directly, look at the BSE epidemic in Britain brought about by feeding ground-up cow bodies to other cows, a practice which still goes on in a lot of places.

yes I do not understand that whole "primates eating meat thing". there is truth to that, but humans could also be different enough from primates that even occasional meat eating is harmful. Of course unless you just eat another animal whole and alive, but that's not something anyone would do, lol. and plus, we don't have the ability (to my knowledge) to kill animals alive like gorillas do. that could be the difference between us and primates. and yes! not eating the right food (even "healthy" cooked food) is killing everyone. really cool, interesting stuff.
