A comfort eating newbie!

Hi everyone!! It’s my first day here and just wanted to say hello and tell you a bit about myself.

I’ve gone through some pretty big life shattering moments this year… One being my husbands death, he was only 29. Food is no longer a neccesity it has become more of a comfort. I have gained quite a bit of weight and am ready to retrain my thinking and my tummy. I long to feel healthy and eat healthy again!!

Nice to have found this site!!

Welcome and good luck with your emotional hard times… I am so sorry about your husband, it must be terrible to have to face each day alone… Sure hope you have something to occupy your time, like a job or children… If you feel like reading, you might try Eckhart Tolle’s “A New Earth”... I know if you are ready, it can be a real eye opener!!! Raw eating will help with your emotional upheavals and benging on SAD foods… Looking thru all the recipes here will fill your time and mind with positive ideas for healing!!!

I’m so sorry to hear about your husband. And, not to be rude waterbaby, but I know a far better book. It’s called the Bible. All the answers of life, in one book. God can be your comfort, He cares for you. Welcome. :)

  • Welcome, Daisychick!

Hi Daisychick. So sorry to hear of your loss. I too eat for emotional reasons. Being aware of it is half the battle. I hope you find that you are fully satisfied eating raw foods. I have not had many cravings since starting about a week ago. Good luck on your journey.

Daisychick, Welcome. I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. You’re at the right place for support and answers to various health questions. Eating raw has helped me gain more balance in my life. If you like reading, like waterbaby said, you could try Pema Chodron “When things fall apart”. It’s a good, nontheistic book that helped me. I wish you all the best, and hope that raw can help with healing.
