Best Tamari Replacement?

I have a recipe for Asian style veggie “rice” that I really want to try, but it has lots of tamari in it. As tamari isn’t truly raw I would really like to find something that I could use instead, but without changing the flavor of the recipe. So my question is, does anyone use/make a tamari alternative that actually tastes like tamari? Thanks:)

I use salt as a substitute. Or if I marinade mushrooms in salt and raw olive oil, the liquid left over tastes just like soya/tamari/nama shoyu.

    Is Braggs liquid aminos raw?

  • Bragg’s is not raw, but I think some nama shoyu is raw (just check your bottle?)

  • all Nama shoyu has a cooked base, although it says its raw on the label.

  • Yeah I suppose soy sauce and tamari etc are just really a salty taste aren’t they. I will experiment with some salt and olive oil in the recipe and see how it tastes.

Hey Zoe-I’m going to a Raw potluck this weekend and I’m wanting to make those great Pesto stuffed Mushrooms. Can I marinate those in salt and EVOO instead of Nama? Many people don’t use the Nama and i like to bring a Pure dish.
