Best Masticating Juicer?

Need some help -

Have decided since using my centrifugal to death that I might upgrade & invest in a masticating, just wanted to see if I’d use it regularly first hence the cheapy to begin with. But..

There are sooo many out there!

Samson? Champion? Green Star? L’eqip Visor? etc, lots of variation in price too.

I’ve heard lots about the champion but its an awful lot more expensive than the samson for example, and it says on the description it doesnt juice greens well..So..??

Any help from anyone? I will invest if its really worth it but there’s only so much guidance you can get from a website description..

  • I have had a Champion for 15 years. For me, they are simply the best on the market. I thought that Samson juicers were about the same price, but I am not sure. I also have a Jack Lalane for my greens. (I’m a sucker for infomercials but its not a bad juicer)

    Thanks for your reply forrestlyone,

I have heard alot of goood stuff about champions but how do you find them with greens? I’ve heard they dont handle those well..

There’s about £100 difference between the Samson and the Champion, from what I can find online today. I’m not sure where in the world you might be but that’s $181 according to todays exchange rate, alot really isnt it?

A Champion will set me back £249 ($452.90).

Such a shame about the voltage difference over here as it would prob be cheaper to get a US version & ship it!

I first had an Omega, but the one I have has a hard time with hard veggies like carrots, beets etc. I now have a Champion. I do like to use my Omega for leaves and celery juice. Although the latter is usually left for smoothies. So the Omega is semi-retired

Well, I have officially killed my cetrifugal. It made a strange noise, choked on some celery and has given up the ghost.

Ah well, thanks for all your tips all!

I’ll def check out the omega and I’m also thinking about the Samson, purely because of the huge price difference between that and the Champion.

    Anyone got a Samson?

Hi Claire, I have a matstone juicer which seems to be the english version of the Samson. I love it as it can also make sweets with it and ice cream from frozen bananas. I have only tried juicy greens once and I think it was fine. If I remember tonight I’ll have another go and let you know how it gets on.

Excellent, thanks fee, that is definitely the one. Its so much cheaper than the Champion so I couldnt figure out in what way it was superior exactly.

I think the Matstone has a pretty good rep, it is described as being able to juice greens/wheatgrass whereas the champion doesnt.

How’s the dreaded 1st day back??
