ate bagel... feel gross

i am at work and didn’t eat enough before i left, so i decided to go get myself a bagel. i’m very good about my diet most of the time, so i figured it would be fine. i feel so gross! i keep burping, and i have pain in my chest! i used to eat bagels for breakfast almost every day. it’s crazy to me now.

i don’t feel guilty about it, i’ve made no promises to myself to be all raw all the time, but man, do i feel gross!

    Yes, that will happen. Purify your body and it will say very clearly ‘NO’ when you try to take it back. Not to worry though – it will pass.

  • You’re not alone, mandelicious. For the first time in many months I had cooked food at a macrobiotic restaurant. I was really craving something warm and savory, so I had tempeh in mushroom sauce and cooked veggies. Mistake! I really felt lousy for the rest of the evening. I think your digestive system completely changes after going raw, and just can’t handle old ways of eating. So whether it’s a “bad” bagel or “good” macrobiotic food, it comes down to the same thing. So if you do want to have cooked food sometimes, it’s best to have just a little at a time. Otherwise, it’s just too overwhelming.

  • it was hours ago, and i still feel totally gross… i can’t believe this is what i used to eat everyday!

  • mandelicious you are not alone,I was off my raw eating today and yesterday,I cannot believe I ate non raw more than once. I am a huge greens and simple food lady and I have gluten reactions as well as digestive issues which seem to be fine when I am eating simple,pure foods and this morning we went to this vegan rest for breakfast,where I usually order the spinach salad…not today I had the tofu scrambler and now my stomach is completely distended and bloated. Oh and yesterday I was even worse….I had a piece of soy cheese pizza!!!!!

    Ok,what’s done is done but every time I end up veering of my clean diet I am reminded why I decided to eat this way in the first place. Ok,so I am really uncomfortable right now,well I guess its pretty bad,I cannot button my pants so I have done some damage right now to my digestion,this will pass and I will get back on my way to eating the way that makes me feel good. To make myself feel better I went and got good foods for this week and have a list of clean yummy greens etc. to look forward to. Just wanted you to know I too feel gross:( and not only think it was that it was a rich cooked food but that it had gluten. Hope you feel better soon!

  • after eating a cooked meal last night (to keep from hurting someone’s feelings), today I’m nauseous and visiting the bathroom a lot. Ugh.

  • the day after the bagel i had some spring rolls and a smoothie (with strawberries and OJ) at a vegetarian chinese restaurant. it didn’t make me feel horrible like the bagel did, but i kept burping for hours, and i couldn’t even finish an appetizer order of spring rolls!
