I’ve pretty much been overweight all my life. I have one child and have been having difficulty conceiving a 2nd child. My husband stumbled across raw foods while sitting at a Mechanic’s shop. He was reading a magazine and read about the Hippocrates Health Institute. At the time we were living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and he sent off for information. When the packet came, “I” began reading it and realized that people were being cured from all these illnesses and lost weight, just by what they put in their mouths.
Although, I didn’t attend the Institute, I did visit and I purchased my dehydrator from them. We tried being completely raw for 3 weeks. The benefits were indescribable. I lost 20 lbs, my tummy shrank—but I noticed that I didn’t sleep as heavy as I used to. I had way more energy. My daughter didn’t grind her teeth at night and snore heavily any more, and my husband couldn’t stop commenting on how much better he felt.
So then we fell of the wagon. Grocery bills became too expensive (Whole Foods was killing us) and I developed a feeling of nausea toward certain foods (sunflower seeds, cumin). Really, I needed to grow and develop more recipes, but was daunted by the task.
Well, now I’m back and convinced that I can take this one day at a time. I want to be healthier.
