32, Been doing raw for over a year now. Started at about 95% for a few months, now I do about 80%, just enough to be able to call myself a raw foodist and also not to irritate my friends when we go out to eat. I do also from time to time consume raw goat's milk cheese (and on very special occasions raw goats milk ice cream from a friend who runs a farm where she milks the goatsherself!) and raw sashimi (fish). With experimentation, I found the cooked foods that I digest well -- non-wheat grains, veggies, and non-sugarfied condiments, and I avoid soy also. I believe that what we choose to consume is very personal and that the more people know, the more they will make choices that both work for their bodies and are sustainable for our food systems. I'm not dogmatic aboutraw foodism, though I can get dogmatic about all the chemical laden processed foods that are available to us and are slowly destroying our health as a nation.
I trained and ran a marathon while newly raw and rocked it. I believe a mostly raw foods diet is best for me, and I love preparing raw food -- it feels like a sacred, loving thing to do, and I'm still not bored with it!
