I’m just getting in to raw foods. Though I’m not completely raw or vegetarian for that matter, moderation is key for me. This new direction was in part prompted by my business partners and because raw seems to better fit my life-style.
I grew up in an Italian family where food, cooking and eating “fresh vegetables” was the central theme. Sunday dinners were epic. My great grandfather was a restaurateur and I went on many an adventure to the farmers market in Dallas where grand-pa knew everybody. It was a treat to see him haggle over the price of cantaloupe and sample all the fresh produce. The raw food culture I’ve encountered so far is reminiscent of those times.
Other than my interest in the raw community I’m an avid cyclist and enjoy hiking. When I’m not in the woods I’m painting or on the computer working on this or that for the business.
