I am 51 years old and live in north western Wisconsin (USA) with my husband. Because of a nueroligical disorder (diagnosed in 1996) in 2003 I started a lifestyle change which cut all refined & fake sugar, & caffeen from my diet and began doing the treadmill for exercise. I have continually been improving my diet & became addicted to jogging (outdoors year round) in 2005. During 2007 I gradually started to decrease the amount of meat in my diet and added more salads.In January of 2008 the local organic store hosted an “uncooking” raw class & I attended to get more ideas for lunch. After my first taste of spaghetti zuciccini with marinara sauce, I was hooked! I come from a family of hunters & meat eaters, so consider myself in transition, as I noticed most came from a vegan lifestyle. Currently I include about 80-90% raw foods in my diet as I eat items from the “dead list” and occasionally eat cooked food with my husband who is not raw.
This site was the first raw site I found & my favorite. I had never heard of eating raw until I attending the class in January of 2008.
